THE GREAT CANIBAD ESCAPE!!!

CANIBAD Beach Resort used to be a hushed secret down Barangay Aundanao on Samal Island, located on the other side of the isle facing Davao Oriental. Now it seems to be everybody's open secret because during the Holy Week vacation, the shores were packed with people!

Canibad used to be this quiet, isolated, undiscovered hideaway on the other side of Samal frequented only by foreigners and locals.

This hidden cove (which takes an hour's rugged but scenic trip from the Igacos pier, then a little long exercise walk down a trail) is ideally situated where creamy white sands meet crystal clear emerald waters. Sarap ng tubig!

You pay P20 per head for the entrance, unless you are planning to stay overnight, then you can rent one of the cottages (around P100 and up) and wait for the spectacular sunrise in the morning.

Make sure to bring your cameras along so as not to miss anything. Somebody almost soaked her precious camera while wading in the beach because she forgot she was carrying it!

With my buddy photographers in tow and a couple of our model friends, we ended up with a fun swimsuit pictorial that is worth the uphill and downhill trudge to a hidden paradise. You just can't wait to go back again.
